		<description>Hi Lori-

Sounds like you and Brooke had a great trip. It is always great to see young people out sampling the adventures of the world, especially on the level that you all did. I have run into many young backpackers on my travels and they always have an appreciation for other cultures and a special sense of energy that is unrivaled. I am going to forward your e-mail to our travel editor and see what her level of interest is. I will also think of a possible inclusion into the blog. Will let you know. Keep traveling!!

		<description>Hi Steve!

I saw that you write about travels for &quot; The Oklahoman,&quot; and I thought I would contact you to ask you about publishing a potential article. My name is Lori Hastings, and I went on a study abroad excursion last summer with one of my best friends Brooke Baker. We are students at The University of Tulsa, and we traveled to Santiago, Chile.

We participated in an intense month of Spanish study there at La Universidad Andres Bello, and lived at home there with a family. We traveled all over Chile in our free time, skied in the Andes, and on top of a volcano, visited the driest desert in the world, and then spent two weeks following final exams backpacking through Patagonia.

Previous to our trip, Brooke and I put together a Sponsorship proposal to outdoors companies in Tulsa and Edmond, and presented them to Bass Pro Shop, Academy Sports and Outdoors, Sun and Ski Sports, Backwoods and Sportsmans. We received outdoor gear from 3 of these companies.

I was wondering if &quot; The Oklahoman&quot; might be interested in writing an article about our excursion, and the outdoors gear sponsorship. Please let me know if you or someone you know might be interested. We would love to share our journey with &quot; The Oklahoman,&quot; and demonstrate our gratitude to our sponsors as well.

Also, I have been looking through your blog and it is wonderful! Your pictures are incredible, and I love the commentary. I would appreciate any feedback you may have on this.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Lori Hastings
