Two Oklahoman staff writers are part of Pet Show:

* State columnist Carrie Coppernoll owns two well-meaning but misbehaving dogs. Deter is a yellow chow-lab mix that loves to sleep, and Skye is a black lab-pit mix shaped like a brick with legs.

 * City/county government reporter Bryan Dean is the proud owner of Huey the minpin, a ball of energy that could explode at any minute.After meeting a lovely young woman with a love of animals, he now counts among his other pets: Chihuahuas Bruiser (boy) and Queenie (girl); English budgies Bennie (boy) and Joon (girl); a multitude of snakes including red-tail boas, ball pythons, corn snakes and milk snakes; the trifecta of amphibians with frogs, newts, and salamanders; turtles; geckos; anoles; spiders; scorpions; hermit crabs; Beat fish; hamsters and a blue and gold macaw named Melvin.
