Nice pig plate

img_0601A friend of mine is traveling in Italy this week, and he spotted this gem he knew I’d love.

This fantastic silver pig platter can be purchased in Venice, for any of you who are able to afford a nice trip like that in this economy. Word is there’s no price tag on it. That’s means you probably can’t afford it unless people refer to you as “your highness.”

Missing price tag aside, it’s is an outstanding piece of pig art.

Welcome to Niki the rhino!

As you may have heard, the Oklahoma City has a new face: Niki. The Indian rhino arrived Thursday. In honor of her joining the zoo, I’ve collected some of our best Oklahoman photos of rhinos at the Oklahoma City Zoo.

Bo cannot be stopped

A few days ago I talked about the silly new comic book commemorating the Obama presidency and his pup, Bo. Well, as if enough folks aren’t taking advantage of the dog already, here’s another product for sale feature the presidential pooch:

Yes, you can now download an application for your iPhone featuring Bo. You can pet his belly, pet his head and do other realistic things, like make him breakdance. It’s kind of creepy if you ask me. It’s like dog-stalking.

But I guess at least this is going to a good cause. Twenty percent of the $1.99 pricetag benefits the Humane Society of the United States.

That’s enough publicity for Bo

allcoversThe talk about the Obama dog seems like it will never end. Well now it appears that the drawing about the Obama dog won’t end either.

Bluewater Productions is putting out four Obama-ish comic books: two about the president, one about Joe Biden and one about Bo.

As if there hasn’t been enough attention grubbing from animal groups about Bo, now the comic book world is getting in on the chase. I’m not saying that Bluewater Productions isn’t classy. I’m just saying they do offer a comic book about Leprechaun for sale next to a comic book about Princess Diana. I’m not thinking this is a company that’s really all that interested in preserving presidential history.
