Tulsa hosts public meeting about dog park
Tulsa’s Bark Park Task Force is planning a public meeting about Zink Bark Park. Here are excerpts from a press release about the event:
District 9 City Councilor G.T. Bynum, Tulsa’s “Bark Park Task Force,” and the Brookside Neighborhood Association will hold a public meeting to listen to citizens’ comments about a potential off-leash “Bark Park” in Zink Park, located just south and west of the intersection of Trenton Ave. and 31st St. The meeting will be held at All Souls Unitarian Church, located at 2952 S. Peoria Ave., on Tuesday, May 5th. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and the public comment session will begin at 6:00.
All “Bark Parks” in Tulsa are funded exclusively through private donations, without the use of public funds. In order to finance the “Zink Park Bark Park,” the Tulsa Beautification Foundation has offered a matching pledge of $1 for every $1 contributed by other individuals or groups, up to a maximum of $15,000. The “Bark Park” has also received a generous donation of $5,000 from a Zink Park neighborhood resident. In order to reach our financial goal for the “Zink Park Bark Park,” we will also be accepting donations at the Tuesday meeting for those passionate about making the “Zink Park Bark Park” a reality.
If you have any further questions, please contact Herb Beattie at 749-4586, or Councilor Bynum can also be reached by calling 596-1929.
