Salamander love

Salamander EscortsAnimal lovers in Vermont recently did their duty to help out amphibians seeking love.

In the spring salamanders, newts and frogs cross roads in the middle of the night in Vermont and other locations to mate but many don’t make it. This group of volunteers helped many across rural roads in Vermont so that they could achieve their final goal.  Volunteers kept count of successful migrators and not-so-successful ones along the way while also taking advantage of the rare chance to see hundreds of the amphibians at once.

I guess this might answer the question about why the amphibian crossed the road.
