Polly want a speech therapist

Maryland firefighter Brian Wilson lost his ability to speak because of injuries he suffered 14 years ago in a traffic accident.

Wilson credits two pet parrots for helping him defy doctor’s predictions and learn to speak again. Now he has devoted his life to rescuing the large birds that don’t quite make it as family pets.

Wilson now shares his home with about 80 of the exotic birds, including cockatoos, macaws and African grey Parrots.

Wilson says rescuing the birds is the least he can do considering the gift his pet parrots gave him.
