Dog missing from Tulsa Dog Park
An email from the Tulsa Dog Parks:
“Please be on the look out for Marlow – a Yorkie – Bichon mix that looks like a long haired Yorkie.
Marlow was last seen near Joe Station on Sunday February 9. Marlow is quite shy and has a collar but his tag fell off about a week before he was lost. If you are at the dog park, please keep an eye out for this little guy and spread the word.
If you have any information about Marlow – please call the TulsaBarkPark.com webmaster at 918-289-2875 or email the dog’s owner at jffcrites@yahoo.com.

Koala saved from fire

Finally, there’s some good news from the wildfire catastrophe in Australia. A firefighter saved an injured koala.
The poor little gal was walked around on burned feet when she spotted a firefighter, who immediately called for water and help.
Koalas are known for their cranky nature despite their cute appearance. They rarely come down from the trees and usually aren’t interested in interacting with anyone. But in this case, the injured marsupial was desperate for help.
Animal welfare officers eventually picked up the koala and took her to a nature reserve where she’s healing well. (Word has it she already has an admirer – a male koala who keeps hugging her.)

Time to show your pet how much you care
With Valentine’s Day so close, Bamboo Pet Center offers some great suggestions for showing your pets how much they mean to you.
- Start the day with a hug.
- Give out a little extra grooming, especially brushing.
- Leave the radio on during the day.
- Take dogs on extra-long walks, and give your cats an extra-long play session.
- Cuddle, cuddle, cuddle. Unless they hate cuddling. In that case, keep your distance.

Love your pet without an emergency trip to the vet

As with every single holiday – even the ones that aren’t exciting – we have to be careful about what we introduce into our homes. We humans love to decorate with weird temptations our pets aren’t usually around, and we love to enjoy foods our pets don’t normally smell around the house. The ASPCA recommends these precautions:
- - Keep chocolate out of reach. (All of us pet owners already know that, though.)
- - Keep candy and gum out of reach, too, in case it has the sweetner xylitol, which is toxic to animals.
- - Cool it on the fancy plants. Check online first to make sure your animal isn’t allergic.
