Injured dog needs home in Burns Flat
This pup is lucky, a word not normally associated with a dog in the pound.
But this dog had a lucky turn of events when some kind-hearted people stopped to help her on the side of the highway, said Terri Lynn Fisher, who’s helping to find the dog a home. A driver had hit the dog and left her.
Volunteers are working to help her recover, but she’s in a need of a home fast. Apparently she knows several commands and is a pleasant dog. She likes to ride in the car.
You can check out adoptable dogs in Burns Flat here. Or call Terri at 580-330-1459.

Give that lamb a sweater
A baby lamb abondoned by his mom is keeping warm by wearing a wool sweater.
The lamb, affectionately known as Jack Frost was one of two born to its mother in England Jan. 1, which is out of season.
The farm’s manager isn’t sure whether Jack’s mom just couldn’t handle to babies in the off-season or if she didn’t have the proper maternal instinct. Whatever it was, it was left to farm workers to adopt the lamb and keep it warm in the sub-zero temperatures.
Some extra hay bales and a heat lamp helped, but one volunteer had the bright idea of buying a knitted wool sweater meant for a baby. It fits Jack perfectly.
The sweater has made Jack a favorite on the farm, and visitors have shown up looking for the little lamb wearing a wool sweater.

The Humane Society that was INhumane

In one Pennsylvania town, the Humane Society has an ironic name. Their actions, in Pet Show’s opinion, were decidedly INhumane.
The Lebanon Humane Society in Pennsylvania wanted to turn some of their land into a park area where potential adopters could meet up with pups they were interested in taking home. Sounds nice, right? It is. Unless the land is a pet cemetery.
The society began converting the cemetery into a park without telling anyone whose animals were buried there. So when folks showed up, all the grave markers were piled up. Yikes.

Words of wisdom from Pamela Anderson
There are many ways to make a good point. But maybe Pamela Anderson’s way of making a good point isn’t the most, um, let’s say, congenial way.
In a plea to sterilize street dogs in Mumbai instead of kill them, Anderson gave this heart-felt, honest, clearly thought out statement: “”Dogs cannot use condoms, but with the municipality’s help, they can be fixed – painlessly, quickly and permanently.”
Thanks for pointing out dogs’ complete disregard for condom use.
Great. Good job there, PamAn.

Drink beer, save a salamander
As if beer drinkers needed an excuse to drink beer, here’s a new one: it helps wildlife.
A Fort Worth brewing company has created a series of beers called Rare Species. Read the full story on our beer blog, The Thirsty Beagle!
By the way, The Thirsty Beagle himself gave the brewer a thumbs up. And if a dog says it’s good, you know it’s the truth.
