Peruvian Hairless Dog Offered to Obamas
We’ve had much discussion about what type of dog the Obama family should get to fulfill Barack Obama’s promise to his daughters.
Now Peruvians have offered their own suggestion, a Peruvian hairless dog. Claudia Galvez, director of the Friends of the Peruvian Hairless Dog Association, has offered the Obama family a dog she is calling Ears for now. Galvez says the hairless, often toothless, dog is good for those with allergies like Malia Obama.
The breed is known as a favorite of the Incan kings and dates back about 3,000 years.
It remains to be seen what the Obamas will select, but Ears, who will be renamed Machu Picchu if he comes to the United States, is waiting to hear.
