Swallow killer sentenced
Gregory Owen will pay a $6,500 fine and serve 100 hours of community service. If you remember, Owen was charged in the deaths of 187 cliff swallows at Lake Hefner. The birds are protected by federal migration laws.

It’s not enough. I don’t want to see that MONSTER doing his “Community Service” at my lake. I don’t understand why he isn’t in jail – he’s the Michael Vick of OKC.
Lake Hefner has been such a bright light in my life for almost 4 decades – I just cannot believe this could happen there. I’m heart-broken, I’m mad, and the punishment does NOT fit the crime. He needs to go to jail.
Gregory Owen, you have broken so many hearts with your (there’s no other word for it but EVIL) actions. Birds poop! Why didn’t you just do what the rest of us do and wipe it off? You don’t own this world. You need help, because only a very twisted soul could do such a thing.
Again, i’m still heartbroken. And an “I’m sorry” that you clearly don’t mean is not easing the pain – it sure isn’t easing the pain those beautiful babies went through.
