Politics invades cat show

cfa.jpgCan’t we just have one place that survives the onslaught of political drama? Can’t there be just one place free from presidential politics?

No. Of course not.

Apparently cats representing presidential candidates Barak Obama and John McCain will attend the sixth annual Cat Fanceir’s Association / Iam’s Cat Championship, which is this weekend at Madison Square Gardens in New York City. There will be some kind of voting contest. I’ll be interested to see if the kitty winner matches the human winner in November.

Of course, lots more will be happening besides the presidential kitty election. The show features competitions, agility trials, adoptions and activities. Event planners expect to attract 80,000 visitors. We’ll see how many of them vote.
