Temperatures are climbing which means our furry friends can start feeling the effects. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has sent us a list of recommendations for keeping dogs healthy during the heat. Here are some of the suggestions. For more go to this Web site.

- Keep dogs inside

- Provide plenty of shade and water

- Don’t run, only walk, when exercising dogs

- Don’t leave dogs in parked cars

- Avoid walking dogs across hot pavement

- Don’t transport dogs in the back of pickups since the hot surface can burn their feet

- Keep an eye on outdoor dogs and contact authorities if they aren’t taken care of
