“Harper’s Island” well worth the ride; Christopher Gorham and cast shine

Christopher Gorham in Harper's Island (CBS Photo)
While intrigued, I was skeptical about a TV series with the plot line of a serial killer picking off victims week by week and ending with this villain being revealed.
Would it be obvious who the killer was early on? Would offing so many characters become ridiculous – a dragged-out version of a bad horror movie?
My skepticism was put to rest.
After watching the first few episodes and getting familiar with the characters, I really got into the show. It rapidly started building steam – ratcheting up the tension and suspense every week.
A major plus was the cast, all being very strong, especially Christopher Gorham as Henry, Elaine Cassidy as Abby, C.J. Thomason as Jimmy and Katie Cassidy as Trish.
Gorham has been great in everything I’ve seen him in, from his roles in the canceled comedy “Out of Practice” to current hit “Ugly Betty.”
Special mention goes to Adam Campbell as Cal and and Cameron Richardson as Chloe. They added a bit of humor when needed and though they seemed to be an odd couple at first, proved to be perfect together.
The series finale was fantastic and did include surprises, as well as a satisfying ending to the story.
Too bad it kind of got buried by CBS this summer, but I’m thankful that they aired the entire series.
Hopefully, Gorham and his other talented cast members will end up on another series soon.
Thanks for the ride “Harper’s Island!”
