Michael Rosenbaum will reappear as Lex Luthor in the series finale of “Smallville” at 7 p.m. May 13 on The CW.
Rosenbaum left at the end of season seven after Lex confronted Clark (Tom Welling) in the Fortress of Solitude.
Years of secrets culminated with Clark’s former friend finally discovering the truth about Clark’s alien heritage.
The rivalry between the two came to a head in a final showdown and crumbled, literally, under an icy avalanche as the Fortress fell, with Lex’s body never being found.
Lex has now risen from the ashes to fulfill his place in destiny as Clark Kent’s greatest adversary.
“The Vampire Diaries”: “The Dinner Party”

A few notes after watching tonight’s “The Dinner Party” episode of “The Vampire Diaries”:
Why is it not surprising that Katherine (Nina Dobrev) tricked Damon (Ian Somerhalder)?
It’ll be interesting to see if she can really work with Damon, Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) instead of against them.
Elena showed what’s she made of in the way that she outmaneuvered Elijah (Daniel Gillies), but Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) couldn’t protect Bonnie (Katerina Graham) from Jonas (Randy J. Goodwin).
Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jenna’s (Sara Canning) relationship is as frustrating as Jeremy and Bonnie’s.
What’s Johnathan (David Anders) going to be up to next?
And, nice background on Stefan and Lexi’s (Arielle Kebbel) friendship.
“The Vampire Diaries” airs at 7 p.m. Thursdays on The CW.

“The Vampire Diaries”: “Crying Wolf”
Some notes after watching tonight’s episode of “The Vampire Diaries”:
Bonnie (Katerina Graham) displayed wisdom in getting Luka (Bryton James) to tell the truth about Elijah’s (Daniel Gillies) mission – but it likely won’t benefit Luka.
And the vampire torture continued – this week it was Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) turn, with Elijah showing how formidabie he is again- against the werewolves and Damon.
Tyler (Michael Trevino) did the right thing talking to Matt (Zach Roerig) about Caroline (Candice Accola), but leaving with Jules (Michaela McManus) – not so much.
I still think he’ll end up being an ally for the vampires in the future.
Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) shared some sweet (and intense) moments – and one word for the Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and Bonnie story line tonight: “Finally!”
“The Vampire Diaries” airs at 7 p.m. Thursdays on The CW.

“The Vampire Diaries”: “Daddy Issues”

A few notes after watching tonight’s “Daddy Issues” episode of “The Vampire Diaries”:
Jules (Michaela McManus) and her werewolf friends brought new meaning to the term “torture” – poor Caroline (Candice Accola) – and then Matt (Zach Roerig) catches her lying to him.
Not sure that a sleepover with her buddies will make up for all of that, but it was a nice gesture by Stefan (Paul Wesley) to bring it together.
I’m betting the relationship between Tyler (Michael Trevino) and Caroline isn’t over yet and that Tyler will be won over to the vampires’ side.
And Damon (Ian Somerhalder) claimed another victim as he continued in his self-loathing ways – in a bubble bath, no less.
Of course Elena (Nina Dobrev) is right to distrust Johnathan Gilbert (David Anders), even after his almost-convincing try at reaching out to her and giving her her mother’s necklace.
What does he have up his sleeve involving Katherine (Dobrev)?

“The Vampire Diaries” comes back with a fan-pleasing episode
“The Vampire Diaries” hasn’t had a new episode in a while, but tonight’s show was definitely worth the wait!
Having Elena (Nina Dobrev) keep an eye on Rose (Lauren Cohan) was obviously not a good idea, but, of course, it made for some really intense scenes.
Caroline (Candice Accola) ended up in a quandary that wasn’t actually too bad to be in, but it looks like Tyler (Michael Trevino) isn’t so happy with her after he talked to Jules.
And the Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Rose storyline was beautiful and touching.
While Damon is usually fun as a bad boy, I always enjoy the episodes where he shows his human side – at least he did that until the end of the show!
Somerhalder excelled at showing Damon’s compassionate side, while also displaying how difficult it is to not be controlled by his vampire nature.
Glad you’re back “Vampire Diaries!”

Stefan (Paul Wesley) has his own ideas about Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) new plan for the future. While Damon (Ian Somerhalder) tries to get the truth out of Jules (guest star Michaela McManus), he asks Elena to keep an eye on Rose (guest star Lauren Cohan), a situation that turns unexpectedly dangerous. Caroline (Candice Accola) and Matt (Zach Roerig) try to be honest about their feelings for one another, and Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) reaction to Caroline’s generosity comes as a surprise to her. Damon struggles to hide his true feelings when a life-and-death crisis hits him harder than he expected. Matt Davis also stars. Marcos Siega directed the episode written by Sarah Fain & Elizabeth Craft.

“The Vampire Diaries”: Howling at the moon
About tonight’s episode of “The Vampire Diaries”:
Kudos to Michael Trevino for pulling off Tyler’s intense werewolf transformation. (Extra kudos for Tyler thinking of needing to wear pants with an elastic waist – a little humor thrown into the show at the perfect time!)
Nice twist with Elijah (Daniel Gillies) turning out to have a different mission than was first thought – still looking forward to the showdown with Klaus!
Not sure if Jules (Michaela McManus) is out of the picture yet because she seems so determined to find out what happened to Mason (Taylor Kinney), so Damon (Ian Somerhalder) should keep his eyes open. (Did he really think locking his door would keep out a werewolf?)
Should have known the Katherine (Nina Dobrev)-Stefan(Paul Wesley) romantic scenes in the previews for this episode weren’t real – just Katherine up to her game-playing again.
Well fans, we’ll have to wait ’til new episodes start airing again Jan. 27 to find out if Rose (Lauren Cohan) can survive her werewolf bite – and what other tricks the writers have up their sleeves for upcoming plots.
They’ve been pretty successful so far, so I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait.
And there’s “The Vampire Diaries” marathon next week (Monday through Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.) to help pass the time.

“The Vampire Diaries”: “The Sacrifice”

About tonight’s episode of “The Vampire Diaries”:
I understand Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) motive for attempting to sacrifice herself, but she had to know Rose (Lauren Cohan) would contact Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) plan to play the hero was predictably unsuccessful – and is he ever going to find a girl that likes him as much as he likes her?
Tyler’s (Michael Trevino) lucky to have Caroline (Candice Accola) to help him deal with the werewolf curse and her compassion for his situation is admirable.
I think her relationship with Matt (Zach Roerig) is unfinished, though.
Stefan (Paul Wesley) has all he can handle now that he’s stuck with Katherine (Dobrev) – she couldn’t have hoped for a better turn of events.
Neither could Damon for that matter – and he’s definitely got his hands full with protecting Elena.
Elijah (Daniel Gillies) obviously had a reason for leaving Elena and Damon alone this time, but he’s not through with them I’m sure – and then there’s Klaus……
“The Vampire Diaries” airs at 7 p.m. Thursdays on The CW.
