Bad enough that the show forgot for great stretches that it was supposed to be funny and simply played it straight. But the Hayley/Roger subplot indulged in a half-dozen different kinds of sick, including voyeurism, bondage, and the culmination where Jess shows up only to be skinned like one of Ed Gien’s victims. The show won’t be cancelled; it’s part of the herd of cash cows Fox maintains. But I wouldn’t mind terribly if the show were taken out back by the dumpsters and clubbed to death.
