Oklahoma City and Tulsa move up in Nielsen market ranks for 2011-12
According to a TVNewsCheck report, Oklahoma City and Tulsa have moved up in the Nielsen ratings market size ranks.
Oklahoma City moved from being ranked 45th to 44th, and Tulsa moved from 61st to 59th.

Gerry Bonds to headline KOSU radio program

“The Living Room with Gerry Bonds,” a new monthly radio program on Oklahoma State University’s NPR station KOSU about Oklahoma issues, arts and culture, is set to premiere at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 7, according to a news release.
Bonds, an Emmy Award-winning journalist and Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame inductee, will host New York Times Editor’s Choice author Kate Buford and Oklahoma City University President Robert Henry in the first installment, which will include discussion on Buford’s latest book about the life of Oklahoma sports legend Jim Thorpe.
“The Living Room with Gerry Bonds” will air the first week of every month on 91.7 FM in central Oklahoma, 107.5 FM in northeastern Oklahoma, 88.3 FM in Stillwater and through live audio stream at kosu.org.
The first installment of the radio show, which is recorded at OPUBCO Communications studios, will re-air at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 10, as well as at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 13.

KSBI-TV adding college game show to lineup, expanding high school football coverage
Oklahoma City-based KSBI-TV has added the local game show “Mind Games” to its lineup, with its debut airing at 8 p.m. on Sept. 28.
Students from two Oklahoma colleges or universities will compete in a battle of the brains each week, according to a news release.
Students will battle for $200,000 in scholarships in the game show sponsored by the Chickasaw Nation.
The competition will consist of teams from across the state competing in athletic-style brackets, with each week’s winners advancing to the next level of competition.
Teams from over 16 schools have already signed up for the games, with schools selecting their own teams and being able to enter multiple teams.

- KSBI-TV is also expanding its fall high school football coverage by partnering with Sonic Restaurants to host a high school football scoreboard with live, high definition coverage from 2-6 metro area games on Thursday and Friday evenings.
The Sonic High School Football Scoreboard will cut in to regular programming every 30 minutes from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday evenings.
KSBI sports reporters Brian Birchell, Abigail Ogle and Mary-Rachel Redman will be providing live sidelines reports from area games and there will also be a live studio scoreboard of all area Thursday and Friday matchups.
- On another programming note, KSBI has announced it’s movng its locally-produced show “All About You” from 11 a.m.-noon to 10-11 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“All About You” is a talk/variety program featuring fashion, makeup, fitness, health, career planning, financial advice, sports and music, and is hosted by Kealey McIntire.

Oklahoma’s famous “The Pioneer Woman” blogger and chef Ree Drummond is scheduled to appear on “Good Morning America” Friday and cook a special recipe.
“Good Morning America” airs from 7 to 9 a.m. on ABC.
Final two castaways for “Survivor: South Pacific” named
Former Survivors Ozzy Lusth and Benjamin “Coach” Wade have been named as the final two castaways on “Survivor: South Pacific,” which has a 90-minute premiere at 7 p.m. Sept. 14, according to a news release.
Lusth will be a member of Tribe Savaii and Wade will be a member of Tribe Upolu.

16 castaways announced for “Survivor: South Pacific”
16 of 18 castaways who will be competing against each other on “Survivor: South Pacific” have been announced today in a news release.
Two of the 18 castaways, who are former castaways returning to seek redemption, will be revealed later this week.
“Survivor: South Pacific” has a 90-minute debut at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 on CBS.
The 18 castaways will be divided into two Tribes of nine; the Savaii Tribe and the Upolu Tribe, named after the two islands of Samoa, with the “Redemption Island” twist returning, in which castaways who have been eliminated from the game receive an opportunity to return for a chance to win the million dollar prize.
When a castaway is voted off each week at Tribal Council, they will be sent to live alone on Redemption Island and, to be able to stay in the game, will need to compete in a duel against the next person eliminated at Tribal Council.
The winner of each duel earns the right to continue fighting for a chance to return to the game and the opportunity to compete for the title of Sole Survivor; and the loser is sent home.
“Survivor: South Pacific” is hosted by Jeff Probst and is produced by SEG, Inc., with Mark Burnett, Jeff Probst and David Burris serving as executive producers and Leisa Francis serving as co-executive producer.

Tyler Blackburn stars in “Wendy” web series, sings theme song
Tyler Blackburn (“Pretty Little Liars”) is starring in Alloy Entertainment’s web series “Wendy” along with Meaghan Martin (“10 Things I Hate About You”) and is also featured singing the show’s theme song “Save Me” with Golden State.
“Wendy” is an updated version of “Peter Pan” and tells the story of a girl (Martin) who has to choose between the boy she loves and the boy of her dreams, according to a news release.
“Wendy” premieres Sept. 15, with new episodes available every Tuesday and Thursday for five weeks.

Pop star and Edmond native Greyson Chance, 14, who’s appeared on the national television shows “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and “Good Morning America,” joins country/pop music star Taylor Swift, professional skateboarder Ryan Sheckler and FIFA’s top female soccer star Marta on the cover of “The World Almanac for Kids 2012.”

Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson set to return to “American Idol”
Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson will return as judges, along with host Ryan Seacrest, for the 11th season of Fox’s “American Idol,” which premieres at approximately 9 p.m., immediately following the NFC Championship Game, on Jan. 22, according to a news release.
“American Idol” recently received ten Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
Nick at Nite to feature “Best of Friends” marathon to welcome sitcom to lineup
Nickelodeon is adding “Friends” to its Nick at Nite lineup and to kick this off the network will be airing a 10-hour marathon each night, beginning Monday, Sept. 5 through Sunday, Sept. 11 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Two back-to-back episodes will then regularly air weeknights from 9 to 10 p.m.
Nick at Nite’s “Best of Friends” marathon will feature a different cast member each night of the week with themed episodes centering on either Rachel, Ross, Joey, Phoebe, Chandler or Monica, according to a news release.
Also throughout the week, Facebook friends of “Friends” will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite episodes on the official Facebook TV show page, with the top ten picks airing Sunday, Sept. 11 starting at 7 p.m.
“Friends,” the ensemble sitcom that made Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and Lisa Kudrow stars, centered on six friends making their way through life in New York City and adulthood as they move toward their thirties.
The series, created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, originally ran for 10 seasons on NBC from 1994 to 2004 and received six Emmy Awards.
