It was an awesome group of stories. Unfortunately, the commercial interruptions literally every 5 minutes so totally eroded the stories and the critical messages that each story was telling as to render the entire Memorial Weekend presentations as just another bunch of movies. As a veteran of the US Navy from the Vietnam Era, I would have expected a whole lot more out of the Networks than to just take advantage of a potential captive audience to generate commercial revenue for the executive paychecks. Your ploy to thank veterans for their service would be a lot more meaningful if it was truly sincere.

In the event that this message might find it's way to Tom Brokaw - - Tom, I'm sorry that you were coerced into being a part of this sorry series of movie presentations. As a high school classmate from Aberdeen, I've long enjoyed your presence in the media. But, as a Vietnam Vet, I'm sad to say that this Memorial Weekend 'celebration' does very little to portray anything other than another weekend of looking at commercials - - which have no value other to enhance the message than ". . . if you can read this message in English, thank a veteran!"
