When I watched this movie as I TiVo’d it, there was scene with Betty White in a nursing home, and that is where she passed, dancing around the room as a young woman again with her young husband. When I replayed the TiVo, it ended with the hose and Jennifer Love Hewett’s arms outflung. Did I dream the last scene?!

Why the name change? The novel was “The Last Valentine” and the movie was “The Lost Valentine.

this goes to show you what a GOOD MOVIE can be made without
the dirty obscene words that so many think that they have to say to make a statement. This needs to be repeated soon. I still want to watch it again. I cried at the end. I miss good shows like we use to have like Kraft Theater and such.

The Lost Valentine was a perfect movie for 2011. This is what true love is all about honoring and remembering.The chosen characters for these roles was right on. As a service member as well it is truly a honor to serve. Yes I do think Sean Faris looks a lot like Tom Cruise. I have always love Tom Cruise and now I love Sean Faris too.

The story was so poignant. As a young child during WWII I remember the troop trains and convoys coming through town and the gold star banners.
I thought the ending held significance. Caroline thought she felt her husband’s arms around her and the scene that followed showed the hose nozzle dropped on the steps. To me it showed that she had died and joined her husband in eternity.
The next scene showed the young people with outstretched arms as if to embrace freedom, which was accomplished by our brave men like the grandfather.

This was much more than just a love story! I think some have lost the meaning of some of the story. It is also about a husband, son, father, who was MIA (missing in action) in war. I am sure we do still have some soldiers that are MIA. Fantastic Movie! And very real!

The part of Lucas Thomas, the grandson, was played by Sean Faris. For some reason, that part and his name was left off of the cast list on imdb.com. (Was it just me, or did anyone else notice that he could convincingly play the part of Tom Cruise’s younger brother or son? There is a very strong resemblance there!)

Was I the only person who gasped when Betty White fell on the steps? I sure hope that was done by a stunt woman. Anyway, it was a beautiful story and I hope they play it again so my daughters can see how love can be.
