“The Vampire Diaries”: Damon the Heart Stealer

Lots of developments in tonight’s episode of “The Vampire Diaries”!
First of all, we found out the main purpose of the moonstone finally, but that doesn’t seem to be why Katherine (Nina Dobrev) wants it.
Also, though it was in a booby-trapped location, it still seemed a little too easy for Elena (Dobrev) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) to find where Katherine and Mason had hidden it.
Just dangerous enough to cause some more vampire drama.
It was nice to see Caroline (Candice Accola) and her mom bonding, but I’m glad Caroline compelled her before she took her home – I didn’t trust that her mom wouldn’t spill the beans about Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan.
With Jenna (Sara Canning), Katherine chillingly showed how she’s not one to be taken lightly.
Will Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) be able to make her pay for what she did to Jenna?
Are Elena and Stefan really separated?
Why does Katherine need a werewolf?
Most interesting of all tonight however, I thought, was Damon displaying his old bad boy ways during his interrogation of Mason.
Who would’ve thought Mason (Taylor Kinney) would lose his heart to Damon?
“The Vampire Diaries” airs at 7 p.m. Thursdays on The CW.

Mason was hot but he had to go! Some of the fans were losing their perspective and hating on Damon just because he was cute. No matter what Damon does, when crap hits the fan, Stefan always calls on him or sends someone to get him. Love to hate him or not, at the end of the day (or night) Damon is the hero. Anyway, like Damon said, Mason was going to get his heart ripped out anyway; Damon just saved him the suffering afterwards. Damon’s response to Elena’s suffering was palpable. I felt more sorry for him than for her. Great acting Ian!!
