“Vampire Diaries”: Vampires vs. werewolves

Is anyone else disinterested in the werewolf story line on “The Vampire Diaries?”
I realize the point is to add to the plot of the show, but I just haven’t been able to get engaged in this part of the tale.
I hope Caroline (Candice Accola) “survives” – I kind of enjoyed it when she pushed Damon.
Caroline hasn’t been one of my most favorite characters, but this new “turn” for her character has made her much more interesting.
And, the scene with Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) sitting at the top of the ferris wheel – super-romantic – which is what “The Vampire Diaries” does best.
