Happy Birthday, Shirley Jones
March 31, 2010 — Shirley Mae Jones, who played Shirley Renfrew Partridge on “The Partridge Family” (1970-74), turns 76 today.
She played Shirley Miller on “Shirley” (1979-80) and Laurey Williams in the 1955 movie “Oklahoma!”.
Her first acting role was in a 1950 episode of “Fireside Theatre.” She was 15.
Best wishes to Shirley and everybody who shares this special day with her.

I have been watching TCM for yrs. and yrs. altho not so much lately like the past 3-4yrs. As I recall all of the movies were top of the line and lately way way too many are not even c, they are just junk movies i never heard of and gave then a watch anyway and realized I just wasted my time. and now it seems unless there is a special presentation w/ Robert Osborn and his guest, there really is no reason to tune in. It’s like if it’s not “the essentials” don’t bother. That is a shame, not only did I get an education about films also directors. Now that the info. is back on.
Being that there are no commercials why do you run that junk, and by junk I don’t mean silent, noir none of that, I love those, I love anything fine and classic. And that’s what TCM would only play so how about it again?

Sorry, not real enthused with Shirley Jones music. That light opera stuff is an acquired taste and I haven’t acquired it yet. But whatever happened to her plans to pose for Playboy? Now that I would find interesting!
