Oklahoma cowboys still contenders on ‘Amazing Race’

Last week on “The Amazing Race,” Oklahoma cowboys Jet and Cord McCoy got lost — twice. In this week’s episode that aired Sunday (March 28), they had to backtrack to retrieve items — twice.
And twice, Cord McCoy was heard saying, “I’m not going to give up until Phil tells us to leave.”
Even though the brothers from Tupelo arrived at the Leg 7 pit stop in last place, host Phil Keoghan did not ask them to leave. It was not an elimination leg. But they will have to perform an extra task during Leg 8.
The items that set them back were a coconut and a message in a bottle. Three other teams had to go back and get a coconut during the Ox  Trot Detour, so that wasn’t a big setback. But leaving the bottle on the boat during the Roadblock proved costly, as they dropped from fifth to sixth place.
But according to their comments at the end of the episode, they are ready for whatever the next leg brings.
“Champions aren’t necessarily the people who ride the most bulls,” Jet said. “They’re the people who can get bucked off and still pick themselves up and get on another one.
“That’s just what we do. And when you hit bottom, there’s only one place to go, and that’s up.”
Next up are stops in Malaysia (Leg Eight) and Singapore (Leg Nine).
Upcoming episodes, which are taken from quotes made by the racers, are titled “You’re Like Jason Bourne, Right?” and “Dumb Did Us In.”
Sounds like something Jet or Cord McCoy might’ve said, doesn’t it? To find out, tune in to CBS at 7 p.m. Sundays.

Nitin Nohria took up Harvard Business School’s top spot on July 1, becoming the school’s first dean to be born outside the U.S. and Canada. One of his first public gestures in the new role was a round-the-world trip with stops in Mumbai, Hong Kong and Shanghai. He has championed the idea of a coming “Global Century” in business as America’s economic dominance is challenged by Asia in particular.
