I would like to nominate my sister Ami Doss. She is my hero and I look up to her in so many ways. She worked 3 jobs in college to help pay for school. She is a kindergarten teacher in Decatur, Texas. I have never seen so much passion a person has for there job like Ami does. I know she will change lives. Due to the recent economy and cutting down of the school system she has lost her job for next year. She was cut because she has not been teaching as long as the other teachers. I know that she is broken on the inside but it doesn’t show on the outside. She puts on a brave face everyday and teaches with so much passion. I know that she will find another teaching job because how amazing she is. I don’t think there is another teacher out there with her determination and heart that is why i am nominating Mrs. Doss.

I would like to nominate both my daughters for top teacher… being a nurse i had always hoped one would follow in my footsteps…. well neither did and I now know why, they were both born to teach.. Annie is a physical education teacher in the Jefferson NJ school system, she has her masters in motor development and does teach some special phys ed classes, she also is a swim instructor and runs a program at a local YMCA for children with disabilities, coaches Jefferson High School swim team and once a week Annie volunteers at our church and teaches CCD. Tara is two years younger and teaches kindergarden at St. Mary’s School in Pompton Lakes NJ, she has taught there for 6 years and is devoted to teaching in a catholic school… she has had children and parents both cry at the end of the school year and pleading for her to ” get promoted” with her class and teach first grade so they could have another year with her as their teacher…. I have had parents call us at home just so their child could speak to Miss Quintavella during the summer months. She also monitors the forensic club at the school and has overseen the yearbook staff for the older classes, all at a volunteer status. They amaze me with the stories from school, many told with a tear in their eyes….and a plan on how they can do something better for the young people that parents leave in their care daily. Kudos to all our teachers out there, they are not compensated enough for what they do although for some a thank you or just watching a student succeed is enough!! Thank you, Charlene Quintavella

Mr. Nohria, who has been on Harvard’s faculty since 1988, said Harvard has already made significant strides in recent years to be better aligned with the global economy. Two decades ago, the school taught few case studies based on Asian examples, but now has more than 100 Chinese and 70 Indian cases.
