‘The Biggest Loser’ Danny Cahill receives surprise from ‘The Doctors’
Oklahoma native Danny Cahill dropped 239 pounds to win Season 8 of “The Biggest Loser.”
Now “The Doctors” are going to help him take off another 15 to 20 pounds.
Danny, who grew up in Midwest City and now lives in Broken Arrow, heard the good news during a guest appearance on the syndicated talk show. The episode in which he talks about how profoundly things have changed for him will air at 3 p.m. Friday (Feb. 5) on KWTV-9 in Oklahoma City.
“People ask me all the time, ‘What did you do with all that skin?’ ” Danny said on the show. “I didn’t do anything with it. It’s still there.”
Danny, who went from 430 to 191 pounds, even lifted his shirt to reveal the extra skin around his waist, stomach and breast areas. The doctors addressed the fact that people who lose a severe amount of weight are typically left with an excessive amount of loose skin.
And that’s when Dr. Drew Ordon, a reconstructive surgery expert, announced that “The Doctors” want to arrange for Danny to have surgery to remove the excess skin, which amounts to about 15 to 20 pounds.
“The Doctors” also plans to follow Danny as he begins this new chapter in his life.
“Losing all the weight was a weight lifted off my soul,” Danny said on the show. “I’m able to pursue my passions again and try to get people motivated to do what I did, to wake up.”
