A piece of “The Colbert Report” set is being relocated to Edmond.100x100_interview_desk_sold
Since late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert is getting a brand new set this year, he is auctioning off items from the set he has used since his show debuted in October 2005 on Comedy Central.
The auction for his interview table ended last week, and Maggie Dixon of Edmond made the winning bid of $14,401. All proceeds from her bid, which will be matched by AT&T, will go for the Haitian relief efforts.
Dixon, who earlier this month gave $1,000 to a HOPE fundraiser, will receive the beautiful desk, along with a notarized list of the 700 people Colbert made look silly at said table.
Two more items are still up for bid in the auction Colbert calls “Own A Piece of Histor-Me: A Colbert Nation Liquidation.”
Bidding for Colbert’s infamous C-Desk from the original set (TV monitor, base platform and POWs not included) is under way and will end Monday (Feb. 1) at 10:30 a.m. (Oklahoma time). Every cent of the final sale price will benefit the Dr. James W. Colbert Endowed Chair at the Medical University of South Carolina Foundation.
And the final item up for auction will be the Season Four portrait of Colbert, which marked the show’s first Emmy win. All proceeds from that auction, which begins Monday and ends Feb. 8, will benefit the Yellow Ribbon Fund.
Great items for a great cause (Maggie Dixon of Edmond would agree). So go to www.colbertnation.com to bid.

^ Dang, now that is something…

I like watching dancing with the stars…It is a good breather.

“Should that mix be 50% or 60%? We should always remain fundamentally a meritocracy,” he said. “That’s been a great strength of American educational institutions. I’m proof of that. If the student body becomes more international that’s because that’s what the best students in the world look like. It’s not like we have targets.”
