“The  Newlywed Game” has aired in every decade since it premiered in July 1966. But Tueday’s episode airing at 5 p.m. on GSN will feature the first same-sex couple in the show’s history.
And making this even more of a must-see episode is the fact that the competitors are celebrity couples.
George Takei, who played Mr. Sulu on “Star Trek,” will team with his spouse Brad Altman on the show. The other two couples are Christopher Knight (Peter on “The Brady Bunch”) and Adrianne Curry (“American’s Next Top Model”) and Damien Gurganius and Nicole Brewer from “The Biggest Loser: Couples 2.”
Carnie Wilson (”Carnie”) returns as host for “The Newlywed Game,” which begins its second season Monday (Oct. 12) on GSN. A total of 65 episodes will air this season, and a number of celebrities are scheduled to compete. Upcoming celebrity couples include Davy Jones of The Monkees and Telemundo actress Jessica Pacheco; dance pros Edyta Śliwińska and Alec Mazo (“Dancing with the Stars”);  former Denver Broncos linebacker Glenn Cadrez and Playmate Brande Roderick; Greg Vaughan (“General Hospital”) and Touriya Haoud; Jonny Fairplay (“Survivor”) and Michelle Deighton (“America’s Next Top Model”); “Biggest Loser” couple Suzy Preston and Matt Hoover; Lauri Waring and George Peterson (“Real Housewives of Orange County”); Kristy Swanson and Lloyd Eisler (“Skating with Celebrities”);  Erik Huffman and Jaime Dugan (“Survivor: China”); and Ronn Moss (“The Bold and the Beautiful”) and Devin DeVasquez (actress-model and former Playboy Playmate).
Non-celebrity couples will also play the game, in which spouses attempt to guess their mates’ answers to questions about their relationship. And viewers can play along from home for a chance to win Oodles — GSN’s online currency, which can be redeemed for prizes and sweepstakes entries. Simply go to www.GSN.com/newlywed and answer the video Newlywed Question of the Day or pick the contestant couple you think will win that night’s episode.

My wife and I are disgusted that your show will allow a gay couple to participate. We are Christians and we believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. We will no longer watch this show.

I’ve watched my last viewing of your show, and will not patronize any of the sponsors of this show.

Are you in the business to provide entertainment, or are you in the business of promoting your agenda?

[...] Ronn Moss to compete on new NEWLYWED GAMEThe second season kicks of Monday on GSN and Ronn Moss (Ridge, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL) and his new wife, Devin DeVasquez, will be contestants at some point this season. Christopher Knight (ex-Leigh, ANOTHER WORLD; ex-Peter, THE BRADYS) will appear on the season premiere. [...]

I’m sure my husband and I would not do very well on the show, despite being happily married for 36 years. I’d love to see more gay couples to see if they are any more or less in tune with each other than heterosexual couples. I’ll be watching for the first time since I was a child, decades ago.

Appropriate air time in the PST slot….just in time for the Waring/Peterson minor daughters to hear even more intimate talk about their parents s** lives.

One would think these kids have been through enough after all they heard and saw during their participation on the Housewives show but these two so-called parents didn’t hold back then and they won’t bridle their tongues now. Anything goes with those two as long as they get on camera after being forced off the Housewives show.

By the way, there are only 3 kids left at the Peterson home….two are still held against their will. Why not ask Peterson his reasoning for that?

The Newlywed Game USED TO BE a favorite. I’ll switch to cartoons.

I think it is great that you featured a gay couple, and what a great couple it is. Don’t let those Christian zealots tell you what you can show.

Signed a former Christian
