Happy Birthday, Shaun Cassidy

  PEOPLE SHAUN CASSIDY Sept. 27, 2009 — Shaun Paul Cassidy,
who played Joe Hardy on “The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries” (1977-78), turns 51 today.
   He played Dave Stohler on “Breaking Away” (1980-81).
   His first acting role was as Christopher Wentworth Hewlitt in the 1976 movie “Born of Water.” He was 18.
   Best wishes to Shaun and everybody who shares this special day with him.

Fox Movie Channel goes “Ape” over Halloween

   For those planning to dress up as an ape this Halloween, the Fox Movie Channel has something special planned just for you. And for everyone else, really.
   Beginning Oct. 30, the network (channel 133 on Dish Network, 258 on Direct TV) will air a three-day tribute to the ground-breaking “Planet of the Apes” science-fiction franchise. The tribute will include the first five theatrical films, five television movies and the special “Fox Legacy: Planet of the Apes” — all presented uncut and commercial-free.
  The five theatrical “Planet of the Apes” films, which will he shown in their original widescreen format, are:
•• Planet of the Apes (1968)
•• Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970)
•• Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971)
•• Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972)
•• Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973)
   The feature-length television movies made from episodes of the cult 1974 television series are:
•• “Back to the Planet of the Apes” (1981)
•• “The Forgotten City of the Apes” (1981)
