Southland is a fantastic show. Why would nbc want to drop it? Makes no sense. TNT has picked it up but why only 6 new shows? We need more and if my vote matters, this show will be on for a very long time!

i agree with almost every post that i have read. network television sucks! all of that reality crap and gameshows with no real dramas. then when we get one that everyone is into they yank it! who is in charge? someone at network tv needs to be yanked!!

NBC you suck anyway. not only taking away one of THE BEST SHOWS on tv, SOUTHLAND, but when watching The Office, Trauma, Law & Order and a few other shows, that are total tools of the B.O. Administration and all the freaking ridiculos Libs, I have to hear all these little freaking jabs out Universal healthcare and Sarah Palin and G.W. Bush. makes me freaking sick and i can totally see why you’re losing altitude. get ready to crash and burn! Keep ur politics out of it!

What a huge disapointment my husband and I have been waiting so long for this show to come back. We were so into it on season 1 even though it was such a short season it was a great show. NBC sucks.

Here’s a good quote, from John Wells, the producer of Southland (and many other famous dramas). It absolutely validates my suspicion:

“Ultimately, it was the dark tone of the series, deemed inappropriate for 9:00 pm, that led NBC to shut down production and cancel the show after previewing the first six episodes of the second season.”

UGH!!! If they weren’t running Jay Leno 5 nights a week at 10pm, this wouldn’t be an issue. That network is going to self-destruct faster than any of us could have possibly imagined. All their shows are struggling… especially Heroes. Then you look at their two new dramas, and they’re border-line total crap. “Mercy” and “Trauma” — Mercy’s OK, but Trauma is absolute crap — it’s a bunch of high-flying acrobatics, explosions and mellow-dramatic crappola.

Thanks a lot NBC!

This show got better throughout the first season. I remember hearing it was cancelled last year, but then I saw the premier come up on my TV calendar, and I got excited.

Now it’s been shit-canned before the episodes even air?!?!! NBC has it’s head so far up it’s ass. I suppose any network that thinks it’s a good idea to put Jay Leno on 5 nights a week, in a primetime slot, could fuck anything up. Give NBC a chance, and they’ll destroy anything.

My guess is they have nowhere to actually put this show — since the content is fairly adult in nature — and they can’t play any real content after 10pm thanks to Jay Leno’s awful show.

This show was AMAZING! I agree they didn’t even give it a fair chance! I think teh networks should give the people that watch it a chance to decide if they should cancel the show… send out a survey or something!! This is not fair! This show was such a great show! All the good shows were canceled without any notice…another great example.. The Riches!

this makes me SO angry. this is an awesome show and they didnt even give it a fair chance. they ony ran like 7 episodes otr something stupid and then let a whole year go by with no mention of it.
its no secret nbc is drowning and they are speeding up the process by ditching what good shows they have left. i hope so much a network sees the genius in this show and picks it up b4 its too late. i’m so disappointed
