Sunday’s NFL Football Picks, according to animated men on Fox Network

Homer Simpson Homer Simpson returns for Season 21 of “The Simpsons” on Sunday (Sept. 27). He also predicted winners for a few NFL games on Sunday.
So did Cleveland Brown, Peter Griffin and Stan Smith. Their shows also premiere Sunday — “The Cleveland Show” starts Season 1 at 7:30 p.m., “Family Guy” begins Season 8 at 8 p.m. and “American Dad” debuts Season 5 at 8:30 p.m.
Here are the football picks made by these animated men (and the writers who put words into their mouths):

Denver Broncos vs. Oakland Raiders
Homer Simpson (“The Simpsons”): Denver will lose, but the team will be winners if they’re not beaten up by Raider fans on the way home.

Miami Dolphins vs. San Diego Chargers
Homer Simpson: Dolphins versus Shamu. I predict I’ll be eating the loser with a bucket full of slaw.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Arizona Cardinals
Homer Simpson: Two great battleships, two great football teams. Frankly, you should pick the Japanese Navy to beat either one of them.

Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens
Cleveland Brown (“The Cleveland Show”): I go for the Cleveland Browns. That’s my name. Next.

Washington Redskins vs. Detroit Lions
Cleveland Brown: And as I said every week last year: “They can’t lose again.” I’ll go with the Lions.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Houston Texans
Cleveland Brown: Jaguars versus the Texans. When did they start the WNFL? Just kidding. I’ll pick the Lady Jags.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Minnesota Vikings
Cleveland Brown: I never bet against the gun-slinger, the riverboat gambler, the guy who just has fun out there, the Kid, Madden’s favorite player of all time: Shaun Hill. 49ers in a romp.

Tennessee Titans vs. New York Jets
Peter Griffin (“Family Guy”): This match up sounds more like the plot to “West Side Story” than a football game. I hate musicals, but I love gang movies. Have you ever seen “Captain Ron?” I like that movie. My pick: Titans

Chicago Bears vs. Seattle Seahawks
Stan Smith (“American Dad”): People may not know that Dennis Franz is from Chicago. But even fewer people know that Dennis Franz enjoys mild Seattle winters from his lake house – in Chicago. My pick: Bears
