Ellen DeGeneres celebrates 1,000th episode of her daytime talk show

ellendegeneresshowhh6   According to Ellen DeGeneres, her Emmy-winning daytime talk show is six short years away from celebrating its 2,000th episode.
But the wait is much shorter for her 1,000th show. It will air Friday (July 17). Times and channels vary since the show is nationally syndicated, but in Oklahoma City it airs at 9 a.m. on KOCO-5.
The milestone episode will feature some of the best moments from the past six seasons, including some that were suggested by viewers. Joining Ellen for the special occassion will be Matthew McConaughey (“Ghosts of Girlfriends Past”), who was infamously arrested in 1999 for a disturbance of the peace in which he was found naked and playing the bongos.
“I told my producers that all I wanted for my 1,000th show was someone to give me a naked bongo lesson … and they got the best,” Ellen said in a press release. “I’ll also get an update on his son, Levi, who is so adorable.”
Ellen also promises some extra big surprises for viewers at home, who she credits as the real reason she’s gotten to do 1,000 shows.
