Become completely absorbed in SpongeBob SquarePants with Nickelodeon marathon and new CD
Before settling in for Nickelodeon’s 50-hour
“SpongeBob SquarePants” marathon that starts at 7 p.m. Friday (July 17), consider getting “SpongeBob’s Greatest Hits” CD which is now available in stores and on iTunes.
The CD’s 17 tracks of original music from the show (and based on the show) could be played during commercial breaks in the marathon. That way, you would be completely absorbed in the yellow sponge for 50 hours.
And since the marathon begins with a new episode of “SpongeBob SquarePants” (a total of 11 new episodes will air during the marathon), listen to the final three songs on the CD first. P!nk performs a new song called “We’ve Got Scurvy,” Cee-Lo Green of Gnarls Barkley does a remix of the “SpongeBob SquarePants” theme song and Tom Kenny (the voice of SpongeBob) co-wrote the new song “Don’t Be a Jerk (It’s Christmas).”
“To SquarePants or Not to SquarePants” is Friday’s premiere episode. It follows SpongeBob after his square pants have shrunk in the dryer. Unable to find a new pair, he tries round pants, but no one seems to recognize him as SpongeBob RoundPants.
Something SpongeBob fans have to look forward to after the marathon is a special episode airing later this year. Not only will it feature Cee-Lo’s interpretation of the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song set to an all-new opening sequence, but P!nk will appear as herself in a live-action sequence.
