 shawna-russell  “Believe in Oklahoma: Most
Fascinating Oklahomans”
is a local TV special that should not be missed.
It is missing from the TV book listings, but it is on Saturday’s TV grid in The Oklahoman that accommodates late programming changes made by networks.
Here are the details: “Believe in Oklahoma” premieres at 6:30 p.m. Saturday (June 27) on KOCO-5. Country rock recording artist Shawna Russell is featured in the special.
Russell, an Okemah native, discusses her third and latest single, “Fire In The Desert,” from her debut CD, “Goddess,” and how it was recorded in Oklahoma City with several famous musicians and engineers who joined her on the project.
Other Oklahomans featured in the special include Oklahoma State University football coach Mike Gundy; P.C. and Kristin Cast, mother and daughter authors who live in Tulsa; Congressman Dan Boren, who is the son of former Oklahoma governor/ U.S. Senator David Boren (now president at the University of Oklahoma); and Paul Folger, KOCO “Eyewitness News 5 at 5” anchor.
“I am amazed that they have chosen a small town girl like me to be in the company of the illustrious names who are included in this special,” Russell said in a press release for “Believe in Oklahoma.” “I am truly honored.”
