Meet the contenders for “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!”
Season 1 of “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” aired on ABC in 2003. Chris Judd (dancer and former husband of Jennifer Lopez) won. Melissa Rivers (daughter of “The Celebrity Apprentice” winner Joan Rivers) was runner-up.
Season 2 of the show premieres June 1 on NBC. Ten celebrities will be dropped into the jungle of Costa Rica to face fun and challenges designed to test their survival skills.
America’s votes will determine the tasks to win food, supplies and luxury items, as well as wyho stays and who goes. The last remaining ccelebrity will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle and win a substantial cash prize for their favorite charity.
Already signed on for the adventure are:
••MTV stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (”The Hills”)
••2007 American Idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar
••Former pro basketball player and TV personality John Salley
••Model and TV host Janice Dickinson (who also participated in the UK version)
••Actor Stephen Baldwin (”The Usual Suspects”)
••Actor Lou Diamond Phillips (”La Bamba”)
••Former pro wrestler and model Torrie Wilson
••Patricia Blagojevich (wife of former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich who was in talks to participate, but was forbidden to leave the country by a judge due to his corruption trial)
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” will air at 7 p.m. over four weeks in June. The two-hour premiere is scheduled for June 1 on NBC, and additional broadcasts will follow Monday through Thursday for the first three weeks. During the fourth week of June, the series will air Monday through Wednesday, with the finale on Wednesday, June 24.
MTV will show a marathon of the preceding week’s episodes on Sundays, beginning June 7. Unaired footage and commentary from cast members will also be included.
