Starz stars get to ‘Party Down’ again

party-down   Ryan Hansen and Martin Starr, two stars from the Starz original series “Party Down,” were in Oklahoma City recently. It was their first visit to the state.
They were on a promotional tour for the show, which wraps up its first season at 9:30 p.m. Friday (May 22). It won’t be their last episode, though.
Starz has ordered a second season of the half-hour comedy about a Los Angeles catering team of Hollywood wannabes stuck working for tips while hoping for their big break. Hansen (pictured at far right) plays Kyle Bradway, who’s an actor, model and front-man for an alt-rock band when not working Hollywood parties. Starr plays Roman DeBeers, the team’s self-proclaimed Sci Fi visionary and all-purpose intellectual.
“I just want to keep working and keep working for good people, and to do good work with good people,” said Hanson, who played Dick Casablancas on The CW’s “Veronica Mars” for three seasons. “And I’m going to buy a place in Nichols Hills when I’m older and wiser and richer. Nichols Hills is really cool.”
Starr, who spent the 1999-2000 season as Bill Haverchuck on NBC’s “Freaks and Geeks,” was looking forward to visiting Bricktown while in Oklahoma City. And he had some advice for aspiring actors: “Start making things for yourself and putting it up on Youtube. That’s a good way to get people to see what you’re doing.”
