Hallmark Channel hosts Mom-O-Rama Week May 2-10

Channel is much more than a bunch of great movies.
  In addition to airing eight family-friendly films in primetime from May 2-10, the network is also inviting viewers to visit www.HallmarkChannel.com for a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas and the opportunity to help provide free mammograms to women across the country.
   It doesn’t cost anything to take part in “Click For a Cure.” And if the clicks total 200 mammograms in April, the Breast Cancer Site will donate $10,000 to help fund research for a cure through GreaterGood.org. Funding will also be provided to clinics throughout the U.S. to provide free mammograms for women in need.
   As for the “Win a Trip” sweepstakes, simply fill out the online entry form fo a chance to win a 5-day/4-night trip for two to Las Vegas. The winner will receive roundtrip airfare, hotel accomodations, spending money and tickets to a Las Vegas concert. Deadline to enter is May 10.
   And the Mom-O-Rama movie event begins at 8 p.m. May 2 on the Hallmark Channel with the premiere of “Living Out Loud” starring Gail O’Grady and Michael Shanks (“Stargate SG-1″). It tells the story of a woman who is diagnosed with breast cancer and the transformative effects it has on her and her family.
   Mom-O-Rama continues weeknights at 8 p.m. through May 10 with these mom-tastic movies:
•• May 3: “A Season for Miracles” — When a young woman’s niece and nephew are threatened with foster care she flees with them until they land in the sleepy town of Bethlehem giving the trio a chance a happiness. Stars Patty Duke and Carla Gugino.
•• May 4: “Thicker Than Water” — An urban lawyer journeys to horse country to delve into her father’s past, where she finds an unexpected family, true love and her own unbridled spirit in this Hallmark Channel Original movie. Stars Melissa Gilbert and Lindsay Wagner.
•• May 5: “Bound By a Secret” — Jane Tetley (Leslie Ann Warren), a glamorous soap opera star, is coping with the fact that her recently-diagnosed cancer is indeed terminal.  She knows she is going to die and wants to be with Ida Mae (Meredith Baxter), her best friend, for her final days.
•• May 6: “Candles on Bay Street” — A single mom returns to her hometown after a lengthy absence, posing a potential threat to the marriage of her old high school flame and his wife. Stars Alicia Silverstone and Annabeth Gish.
•• May 7: “Chasing a Dream” — As Cam Stiles (Andrew Lawrence) and lifelong buddy John Van Horn (Jake McLaughlin) compare athletic plans, victory seems within reach. But when tragedy strikes, Cam faces an unbearable loss that shatters his world.    
•• May 8: “Living Out Loud” encore presentation.
•• May 9: “The Good Witch’s Garden” — Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Nightingale (Catherine Bell) has settled into Middleton and is busy making a home of Grey House. Her boyfriend, Sheriff Jake Russell (Chris Potter), and his kids are happy to have Cassie in the neighborhood, but she has yet to gain the trust of some people in town.
•• May 10: “The Note II: Taking a Chance on Love” — Having been reunited with Christine, the daughter she gave up for adoption 18 years earlier, Peyton MacGruder (Genie Francis) is still learning the ropes of parenting. She’s also busy writing her “Heart Healer” column, as well as managing a relationship with coworker and boyfriend King Danville (Ted McGinley). But when King asks Peyton to marry him, she’s too afraid to take a chance at a life she deserves.
