‘American Idol’ vs. baseball

american-idol-cards  “American Idol” is tops on TV. Baseball is Topps on trading cards.
But baseball better watch out. Upper Deck is introducing a new line of “American Idol” trading cards. The initial 138-card set will be available April 21.
Three Ryan Seacrest cards for one Carrie Underwood would be a great trade, don’t cha think? Of course, all the judges (including Season 8 addition Kara DioGuardi) will be in the set, along with the Top 2 finalists from every season (including Carrie from Checotah and David Cook from Tulsa) and popular past ‘Idol’ contestants (including reject William Hung and Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson).
Also, randomly inserted autographed cards can be found in the set, which comes five cards to a pack. And look for the Golden Ticket in each pack that has details on a chance to win a trip to Hollywood for the “American Idol” live finale show.
One card that should be included but isn’t: Brian Dunkleman. Remember him? He co-hosted Season 1 with Ryan but left to pursue better things. Boy, did he play his cards wrong.
