When diagnosed it is usually too late for treatment. Since it is so rare there is not much research or treatment. We have a web site, cholangiocarcinoma.org that was started about 4 years ago and has been growing quickly, unfortunately. We are trying to get our plight out there that we need research and treatment for this monster of a disease. It is unforgiving and relentless. The only thing we know for sure is that we know nothing except it will return over and over.
I have collected 35 letters from patients and care givers. If you think this could make an interesting topic for your show I would be happy to send them to your office. Some of us have been on this Board for 3 years and thought it would be a miracle for a few of us to meet. There are dying people here who are bravely and lovingly trying to help others.
