“People’s Choice Awards” announces winners, contests
Fans decided the winners of the 35th annual People’s Choice Awards last week. Now it’s up to the people to help Rascal Flatts and Queen Latifah with upcoming projects.
At the People’s Choice event, where Rascal Flatts performed and collected the award for favorite group, the band’s members Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney (he’s from Picher, Okla.) announced a contest. They want fans to create and pick the cover for their new album “Unstoppable” to be released April 7.
“We decided this year it’s all about celebrating the people who know us best — our fans,” DeMarcus says in a video posted on www.pcaVOTE.com/. “That’s why we have partnered with the People’s Choice Awards to create an opportunity to let our fans submit designs and then vote on the cover art for our next studio album.”
Rooney explains that fans need to go to www.pcaVOTE.com and upload a 5×5 piece of art that best represents Rascal Flatts. LaVox adds that step-by-step instructions are posted on the site.
“We’ll choose the top three creative submissions and then you — our fans –will ultimately select which design will be the cover of our next album,” LaVox says.
Submissions will be accepted through Jan. 22.
Queen Latifah, who hosted the “People’s Choice Awards,” also announced a special opportunity for fans. She is offering singers and songwriters the chance to be featured on her upcoming album “Persona.” Go to www.pcaVOTE.com to submit a video.
