Queen Latifah to host, Carrie Underwood to perform on 2009 People’s Choice Awards

Carrie Underwood   We, The People will be happy to know that previous People’s Choice Award winner (and current nominee) Carrie Underwood from Checotah has been tapped to perform at The 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards.
   So has Rascal Flatts, the country musical group featuring guitarist Joe Don Rooney from Picher.

   CBS will air the event live on Jan. 7 from Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles (8-10 p.m.). Queen Latifah (“Chicago”) hosts the event, but fan votes determine the winners of the awards that cover movies, music and television
   Underwood (in CBS Photo at right) is up for three awards — favorite female singer, favorite country song (“Last Name”) and favorite star 35 and under.
   Rascal Flatts has two nominations — favorite group and favorite country song (“Take Me There”).
