“Storm Chasers” are Discovery calendar men
University of Oklahoma graduate Reed Timmer is Mr. April, and not just because that is a busy storm-chasing month for him.
He is featured in the “Men of Discovery” 2009 calendar for the month of April. He is pictured with his “Storm Chaser” co-stars, Sean Casey, Josh Wurman and the TIV (Tornado Intercept Vehicle).
Timmer, who is a dissertation away from earning a doctorate in meteorology at OU, is in good company on the calendar, which was sent to press members to promote Discovery’s program line-up.

Sorry, I thought I read the article carefully…you said Discovery sent it out to press members. I don’t suppose it is available to the general public, then?
I don’t believe the Men of Discovery calendar is available to buy. I checked the Discovery store, as well, and did not see it. But maybe if enough viewers notify http://www.discovery.com the network will make it available.

I wish this calendar was made available to the public – then we would not have people selling it on ebay for outrage prices .2009 MEN OF DISCOVERY CALENDAR w/ Bear Grylls and more (#260338335492)ebay #. At present time bid is 76.00

I’m curious…is this “Men of Discovery” calendar for real? In other words, is it an official, authentic Discovery product or simply a fan effort? I ask because I can’t find any definitive references to it on any other sites, including the Discovery store. In any case, please let us all know. Thanks!
