“Young and Restless” sets record
“The Young and the Restless” became daytime television’s top-rated drama the week of Dec. 26, 1988.
It has not budged from that spot since. In the most recent Nielsen ratings, the CBS show ranks No. 1 in the live plus same day ratings for the 1,040 consecutive week.
Also for the week ending Dec. 5, “The Young and the Restless” was first among women ages 25-54 for the 187th time in 191 weeks and first among women ages 18-49 for the 145th time in 155 weeks and for the 172nd time in the last 188 weeks.
