Bonnie Hunt holds celebrity auction to benefit cancer center
Before she was a talk show host, Bonnie Hunt worked as an oncology nurse at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern Universuty in Chicago.
She helped raise more than $100,000 for the center during breast cancer awareness month in October. And she asked her talk show guests to help her with a fundraiser she is holding this week.
Go to www.bonniehunt.com to bid on one-of-a-kind celebrity items in “Bonnie’s Basement.” All profits from the auctions, which end Sunday (Dec. 14) will benefit her former place of work.
Among the items up for bids are:
♦♦Bracelet that David Archuleta wore during the “American Idol” tour and the shirt he wore during his “Bonnie Hunt” appearance, as well as a signed CD and poster.
♦♦Ring that Peter Facinelli’s character, Dr. Carlisle Cullen, wore during the filming of the blockbuster, “Twilight,” as well as a box set of the books signed by members of the cast.
♦♦Lance Bass’ autographed white dancing shoes that he wore on “Dancing with the Stars.”
♦♦John Stamos’ signed doctor scrubs and stethoscope his character, Dr. Tony Gates, wore during this last season of “E.R,” the most Emmy-nominated show on television.
♦♦A signed skateboard by skating pro Tony Hawk.
♦♦Carrie Ann Inaba’s “Dancing with the Stars” VIP package including tickets to Season 8 and a pair of Damiani earrings.
♦♦Green Dolce & Gabanna dress that comedian Kathy Griffin wore on the show.
♦♦Unopened “The Kids from The Brady Bunch” album and a signed copy of Maureen McCormick’s autobiography, “Here’s the Story.”
♦♦An original photograph of Tom Arnold and ex-wife Roseanne Barr wrestling by renowned photographer Annie Liebovitz who also signed it.
