These celebs have “Gone Country”
Remember Micky Dolenz? Hey, hey, he was a Monkee.
Now he is one of seven celebrities vying for a chance at country music success on “Gone Country.” The show’s third season is scheduled to premiere in January on CMT.
The other celebrities taking part in the two-week challenge to write a country single are:
♦George Clinton – founding member of the bands Parliament and Funkadelic
♦Tara Conner – Miss USA 2006
♦Taylor Dayne – pop vocalist/ actress
♦Sheila E. – entertainer/ musician
♦Richard Grieco – actor/ musician
♦Justin Guarini – “American Idol” runner up
At the end of the two weeks, the artist who is most prepared to impress a country audience, as determined by host John Rich, will record and release their single to country radio. The previous “Gone Country” winners are Julio Iglesias Jr. (Season 1) and Sebastian Bach (Season 2).
