my own wosrt enemy is so good is not funny is the no way to get nbc to do right thing put it back on tv
I can’t believe this!! The people at NBC have got to be just plain stupid! I agree, they haven’t given it a chance to build a fan base. I mean, it has Christian Slater in it for crying out loud!! Not just some amateur TV star. Slater is such an incredibly good actor; he deserves better from NBC!!! This is the first TV show I’ve ever watched that I could say was really movie quality. It has probably topped my favorite TV show of all time, and they cancel it. DUMB, DUMB, DUMB! And I also agree that they should AT THE VERY LEAST try a different day or time. If the ratings really do continue to fall, then it just shows what shallowness, simplemindedness, and lack of good taste the general public really has. They can just stay on their couches with their beer, pizza & TV remote watching shows like “Family Guy” and suffering from diabetes and obesity!
Lorena you are correct – they are stupid, as are almost all network execs. They go out of their way, unknowingly we hope but I have my doubts, to piss off their viewers.
It is sad and will someday result in the death of the big 3 imo as there are more avenues for distribution into the home including subscription based direct delivery TV (yeah I know years & years away, but I hope it happens).
I am less upset by these early pulls than I am by the late season or mid-year multiseason drops (without any wrapup which shows an utter CONTEMPT for the loyal views), but they all suck.
I was just starting to love Monday night TV again until NBC went and screw it up:( I watch Heros first, then My new Fav My Own Worst Enemy. It’s not fair! Please reconsider…….
Since Alias went off the air, I can’t think of a good spy TV show worth watching. That is until My Own Worst enemy. Hopefully this cancellation gets some fan reaction to save the show. Not all of us want to watch a bunch of reality shows.
I too think that NBC is not giving this show a chance. I think that given the chance, they could come up with some really good story lines after they get through the broken agent thing. Trying it on another night was a good suggestion.
Man, this sucks! Just when I’m getting hooked on a show, they yank it! The same thing happened in the first season of Boston Legal. When it finally came back on the following season, I never watched it again. Of course, to NBC, it’s all about the numbers, but they could have at least tried another night!!!
Really stupid move. There is very little worth watching on TV but this was good. AND it is Christian Slater! Shouldn’t be surprised however considering the crap they do pick up.
I really like this show and am very disappointed it is being cancelled. It is a complex and unique show. Give it a chance. Very different from what is on the tube these days. Can’t believe some of the other crap that gets the green light.
I can’t believe they didn’t give this a chance. Particularly after the preview ads were so bad. They really turned me off ; but i tuned in to the show by accident during the premier episode and loved it. It is the only show I watch every week. Quality acting from the entire cast. Christian Slater’s performance is one the best I have ever seen on a television show. Complex plot, well written dialog. Come on NBC, we’re not all mindless morons who want to watch crap!

Thank you for this article. I am a fan of the show, and I am very frustrated in how the networks now seem to axe new shows before they even have a chance to build a fan base. Also, why didn’t they even try the show on a different night when it wasn’t going up against Dancing with the Stars, Heroes etc?
