Oklahomans to celebrate “Christmas in Rockefeller Center”
Planning to attend the lighting of the world’s most famous Christmas tree in New York City? At least two Oklahomans are.
David Cook from Tulsa will be at the Dec. 3 event. So will Joe Don Rooney from Picher.
Both are planning to perform during the 76th annual tree lighting extravaganza at Rockefeller Center. Rooney will be there with his bandmates from Rascal Flatts.
Those who cannot attend the ceremony in person can still see everything unfold live during NBC’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” broadcast at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3. The telecast will be in high definition, so it will feel like you are there (except you won’t be as cold as those standing outside).
Other musical artists planning to perform current hits and holiday classics during the ceremony are Beyonce, Tony Bennett, Neil Boyd, Jonas Brothers, Harry Connick Jr., Rosie O’Donnell and The Broadway Kids, Faith Hill and Solange Knowles. Al Roker (“Today”) will host the event.
