“48 Hours Mystery” has Oklahoma connection

48 Hours Mystery   Saturday’s episode of “48 Hours Mystery” (9 p.m. Oct. 18 on CBS) will feature a cold case that was reopened due to the persistence of an Oklahoma City resident.
The installment titled “Into Thin Air” profiles the case of Jean Zapata, a flight instructor from Madison, Wisc., who vanished 30 years ago. The case closed three weeks after her disappearance.
But because of the tireless efforts of her best friend, Peggy Weekly of Oklahoma City, authorities reopened the case.
Weekly’s work with Madison detective Marianne Flynn Statz helped uncover answers in the case, some of which involved sexually explicit photos, hidden documents, a safety deposit box and a secret that would tear the family apart.
