Find out who is “Dancing With the Stars”
ABC announced who the 13 celebrities would be for the seventh season of “Dancing With the Stars” scheduled to premiere Sept. 22.
But one of them might not compete, after all.
Hours before ABC officially released the participants’ names, actress, model and reality television star Kim Kardashian (”Keeping Up With the Kardashains”) cut her foot on a glass coffee table and was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital. If she is able to compete, she will team up with defending champ Mark Ballas, who returns for his third season.
The other celebrities on ABC’s list are:
◊Lance Bass, former member of the pop group N Sync. He will dance with Youth Latin Champ and 2007 World Swing Dance Champ Lacey Schwimmer, who is making her series debut.
◊Toni Braxton, six-time Grammy winner. She will team up with Season One champion Alec Mazo, who returns for his fourth season.
◊Brooke Burke, who hosted “Rock Star: INXS” and has guest starred on several TV shows. She will dance with Derek Hough, who returns for his third season.
◊Rocco Dispirito, a celebrity chef who launched Rocco’s for the reality series “The Restaurant.” His dance partner will be Karina Smirnoff, who returns for her fifth season.
◊Maurice Greene, who won gold medals in the 100-meter dash and 4×100-meter relay at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He will team up with two-time champion Cheryl Burke, who returns for her sixth season.
◊Cloris Leachman, who has won nine Emmys, one Golden Globe and an Oscar. Academy Award. At 82, she is also the oldest contestant to take part on the show. She will team up with World Latin Champion and Mark’s father, Corky Ballas, who makes his series debut.
◊Cody Linley, who will be the youngest contestant ever on the show. He plays Jake Ryan on “Hannah Montana,” and his dance partner will be two-time “Dancing with the Stars” champ Julianne Hough, who returns for her fourth season.
◊Susan Lucci, who plays Erica Kane on “All My Children.” She will dance with Tony Dovolani, who returns for his sixth season.
◊Misty May-Treanor, who teamed with Kerri Walsh to win the beach volleyball gold medal at the 2008 Neijing Olympics. Her teammate for “Dancing” will be Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who returns for his fifth season.
◊Ted McGinley, whose TV credits include “Happy Days” and “Hope & Faith.” He will dance with newcomer Inna Brayer, who is the current U.S. Amateur 10 Dance Champion.
◊Jeffrey Ross, a comedian who has appeared on several celebrity roasts and TV shows. He will team up with Edyta Sliwinska, who is the only pro to compete in all seven seasons of “Dancing with the Stars.”
◊Warren Sapp, who played defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders during his 13-year career. His dance partner will be Kym Johnson, who returns for her fifth season.
“Dancing With the Stars” will open Sept. 22 with performances from all 13 teams. On Sept. 23, one team will be eliminated and the remaining 12 will perform a second routine. And on Sept. 24, another duo will be dismissed. The Jonas Brothers and Jesse McCartney will perform on Wednesday’s “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show.”
