Grammy winner helps promote ‘Saving Grace’

Grammy-winning country music recording artist Gretchen Wilson has incgretchen_wilson_eventimage1.jpgluded Oscar-winning actress Holly Hunter in her latest video.
Wilson performs her new song “Work Hard, Play Harder” from her upcoming fall release in a special music video airing on TNT, TBS, truTV and in Regal Cinemas nationwide over the next few weeks.
The video features clips from the TNT drama “Saving Grace” that stars Hunter as Oklahoma City police detective Grace Hanadarko. The video is part of a marketing campaign for the second season of the series premiering July 14.
“Embrace Your Grace” is the concept of the campaignm, and it invites viewers to celebrate who they are – flaws and all – and follow their instincts to live life to its fullest, much like Hunter’s character in the series.holly-hunter.jpg
Wilson’s “Work Hard, Play Harder” music video opens with the singer driving a vintage Corvette convertible with gleaming hubcaps.  On the radio, the grainy sound of a female announcer says, “Now folks, it’s time to Embrace Your Grace.  Time to work hard, then play harder.” Wilson sings the song as she drives down a scenic road, long hair flying in the wind.
After arriving at an outdoor party, Wilson sings the rest of the song as scenes from “Saving Grace” are shown along with graphics that deliver some of the “Embrace Your Grace” philosophies:  “Live white hot,” “Trust your instincts,” “Take a stand,” “Ask the big questions,” “Own who you are,” “No apologies” and “Go with your gut.”
Scoring big in its first season, “Saving Grace” was one of ad-supported cable’s top new series of 2007, averaging 4.7 million viewers.  It comes to TNT from creator Nancy Miller, an Oklahoma City native.  Hunter, who earned Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for her work in the series, also serves as producer.

My husband and I absolutely LOVE the show. It is refreshing, exciting and absolutely love Holly Hunter!!

The opening season show was amazing..Although I had not been sexually abused by a Priest..watching the show, I felt validated, at peace, and justicefication served.I am sure that I am not the only viewer that had been abused as a child that has these feeling after watching the show…Holly Hunter is fantastic, I know that some where inside of me is a Grace also…Holly is one of the few Stars that I would love to meet. No one else could play the part of Grace like she does. Thanks, Joyce Donahue Dallas, TX

I have been sexually abused but not by a Priest but by my father. The anger and disgust that Hunter’s Grace was portraying when she was facing her accuser was so true of what many of us feel. In my own head if I ever had my hands on my abuser would I want to harm him or even have a thought of killing him? I don’t really know. But I applaud Grace’s decisions.

Thanks.

In last nights episode (July 21st), there was a song called “Work Hard, Play harder” by Gretchen Wilson along with it was a poem (I believe) that was called “Embrace Your Grace”. Is there anyway to get that poem. It so follows my life’s motto.

Thanks,

I love this poem!

I wanna bust the world wide open
The way that you do when you’re filled with youth
I wanna engage with people..and lovers..family..fellow cops..and enemies
I wanna be physical and I also want to ask the big questions
I wanna taste the taste… and fix the problems.

I wanna run headlong into chaos..and bad guys..and darkness..and pranks..and fun..
and laugh laugh laugh.

I wanna be the best friend.. and I wanna be the greatest aunt and the most complicated daughter
I wanna be the mystery in the room… and I wanna be known.
Embrace your Grace.
