OK Sweetheart soundtracks “TCM Remembers, 2011″

Turner Classic Movies, which recently added an HD channel on Oklahoma City’s Cox Communications, generally does a much cooler, much more stylish and reverential remembrance of departed Hollywood players than the “Bring Out Yer Dead” sequence at the Oscars, but it’s even better this year, thanks to OK Sweetheart’s beautiful “Before You Go.”

TCM HD is on Cox channel 797. Congratulations to Erin Austin and OK Sweetheart for their inclusion on this project.

I saw the 2011 TCM Remembers this morning, and was moved by not only the visual presentation, but by the fantastic song used in the piece. This was my introduction to OK Sweetheart, and immediately after hearing the song Before you go I jumped on the web to find out who did the song. Great stuff! The video was good too. ;-)

beautiful presentation and music. Where can I buy this music?

Jeanine, you can get it at both Amazon and iTunes. Erin and her husband, Rob Gungor, are some of our favorite people around here — super-nice and worthy of mass adulation.

Here’s their site: http://oksweetheart.com/#/music

This is one of very few songs/lyrics that I persistenly and diligently spent an enormous amount of time researching on “The Web’ [over an hour]. What a most hauntingly beautiful, soulful piece of work which also, in my estimation, was skillfully presented with superb voice artistry. Thanks for this gift of talent [and oksweetheart's site]

Thanks for printing people’s comments. This song tares me to pieces and yet I am addicted to it. But it is comforting to know other people are affected by it.

I have been singing this song since the one and only time I saw it on TCM. I immediately got on web like everyone above, and listened enough times to get the words. I love it, it’s beautiful, haunting and the editing with the music was just suberb..(I don’t even use that word – but it was)

Like you, I first heard this song on the TCM tribute. After I found the clip on You Tube, which gave me the artist’s name and the song, I immediately downloaded it and proceeded to listen over and over and over again. It is my new favorite song. Why isn’t this band more popular? Thanks for your post; I enjoyed!!
