A high-contrast digital video separated into frames, sized, converted to grayscale, put through the photoshop photocopy filter, blended, colored, printed, cut, collated in order and hand-flipped. Even the extra hand-drawn stuff was &quot;hand drawn&quot; in the digital file using a tablet and stylus. Some of it was even animated before the &quot;separated into frames&quot; step. All digital until they actually print em out.
It can all be done pretty easily with photoshop actions. You only have to set all that up once and do it for every frame automatically. Bingo!
